CT Green Scene

The mission of Hartford GreenDrinks (http://ctgreenscene.typepad.com/) is to facilitate positive change by getting people from all sectors--individuals, business, academia, government and community organizations--into a common space where they can network with each other to brainstorm solutions to environmental challenges and learn about local, green resources that offer eco-friendly options for home and work.

Hartford GreenDrinks meets somewhere in Hartford on the last Thursday of every month. Each event takes place at a different venue with a unique flavor and feel, but the mission is always the same: get people talking about what they're doing today and what they want to do tomorrow that's green.

Whenever possible, we serve food that is organic and locally grown, and have organic and/or biodynamic wine, and organic beer. We don't use plastic at our events, and adhere to a no-waste policy. We also consider access to public transportation when choosing our venues.

The event on Thursday, May 29th at 6 pm took place at the University of Hartford at the Joseloff Gallery, where we'll enjoy Beyond Green, an environmentally-influenced art exhibit. NRL will offer hassle-free and safe CFL recycling kits and be on hand to advise us how to safely dispose of CFLs, which contain mercury.
