YH Magazine Meets Karina

This month YH Magazine brings you an interview with Karina Casyab who recently moved to Hartford from Chicago.

Q) When did you move to Hartford? From where? Approximately a year ago, I drove 15 hours from Chicago to Hartford.

Q) What do you like about Connecticut? I enjoy Connecticut for many reasons, but mostly because it’s a perfect midway distance between Boston and New York City, and the state’s capital, Hartford, is a city that is rich in arts and offers a diverse culture and community.  Also, within walking distance in Hartford, you can visit a museum, attend a play or enjoy an upscale or casual dining experience.

 Q) Would you recommend your friends moving here? and why? Yes, I would in a heartbeat.  In a nutshell, Connecticut offers you entertainment at its best, nightlife and outdoor recreation.  In addition, in Connecticut there is a booming job market and beautiful properties to live in that surround you with many friendly and hospitable faces.

Q) What would you like to see here that you miss moving from Chicago? I miss Mexican street style food and street vendors that sell hot dogs!!!

Q) Your favorite restaurant for lunch at the moment? My favorite restaurant for lunch is The Russell.  The Russell has a laid back and cozy atmosphere, and they offer a perfect combination of spicy, tangy, and sweet flavors.  Their Wild Mushroom Ravioli is to die for!

Q) What is the most amazing thing that ever happenned to you when you moved here?  Yes, I did get engaged in early December.  The Connecticut lifestyle and our new friends helped us settle in extremely quickly, which gave my fiancé several more reasons to want to build a family and home here with me!
