YH Magazine Meets Albana Bakrina

Albana is the event co-ordinator at The Hartford Club.

Q) Have you always been in Hartford?

No, my parents moved to West Hartford from Albania back in 95 and I moved to Hartford 3 years ago. I like living here it has a lot to offer and not to mention its only two hours from New York and Boston.

Q) What is exciting about being an event co-ordinator at The Hartford Club?

Aside the fact that I love planning events, I get the opportunity to interact with our members on daily basis and really get to know them personally. That way, when the time comes to plan an event, I know exactly what they want. The challenge of making every event perfect and seeing the final product come together and be a success is a great feeling and it’s what drives me.

Q) What’s the biggest event you have ever planned in your career? T

The March of Dimes Event coming up in September. Were expecting about 350+ ppl to attend! It’s definitely been a challenge trying to get all the venues to donate their time and money considering the economy is so bad right now.

Q) In the social circles, you are always referred to as a socialite?

What gives someone such a title? I wouldn’t necessary call my self a socialite. However, given what I do professionally and personally I’m constantly interacting with people every day. I love going out and meeting new people its fun.

Q) Whats your hidden talent that no one knows about?

If I told you it wouldn’t be hidden anymore. Lol…

Q) If there is one thing about Hartford social scene that you could change, what would it be?

We need a few higher end lounge type places to go to. I feel like there are not a lot of options and you always end up going to the same places over and over.
